Offering a complete specialist music programme

Lissa Robertson

Lissa is a professional session musician and singer based in Scotland. Born in Edinburgh, she attended the City of Edinburgh Music School from an early age studying piano, violin & jazz vocals.

Subsequently Lissa completed her qualifications in classical violin performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under Justine Watts of the Scottish Ballet orchestra before moving into the world of traditional folk music. This evolved in to producing fusion music using Lissa’s wide knowledge of digital technology which was influenced by technological pioneers such as Imogen Heap and Martyn Bennett.

Much of her music production is now vocally focused and has engaged in a wide variety of professional activities which include; Tinderbox orchestra and community projects; Fat-Suit’s third album (to be released); and The Jets, who won the Confetti awards for best Reception Entertainer 2018. Lissa also provides performances for the Chinese diplomatic and student community as well as the local established ethnic Chinese community, which she has strong ties with due to her Chinese heritage on her mother’s side.

Lissa is now playing fiddle and is lead singer in the progressive, folk-electro fusion outfit Yoko Pwno where she specialises in the application of electronic & digital technology for the development of new music. Their first album, with producer Iain Copeland will be released mid-Spring on Skye Records. They look forward to taking it on tour around the UK and will be making appearances at many outdoor festivals including a slot on Eden Festival’s Great Mountain Stage.
